Dear Messiah Members & Friends,
It is with irreparable sadness that by resolution, the decision was made to close Messiah’s Early Learning Center at the 1/31/21 Voters’ meeting. In making this decision, a number of factors were considered. Messiah’s school board president, as part of the ELC reopening committee, advised that (1) considering to-date donations, the predetermined financial goals set by the committee were unlikely to be met including the amount needed in order to pursue the hiring of a state certified school director (2) results of the survey sent to Messiah members noted only about 50% financial support for the upcoming ELC school year (3) there was an unknown number of students that might be a part of the upcoming school year. Additional thoughts, questions and concerns of the Voters were also considered.
As an outcome of the decision to close the Early Learning Center, a decision was made by way of resolution to proceed with the possibility of a children’s ministry such as a “Jesus, Mommy and Me” ministry or the like for Messiah as well as the community. This decision included the approval to hire two church workers as part of the program. Details for the proposed program will be decided later. Voters also directed Messiah’s Leadership team to pursue the possibility of hiring or calling a DCE as a way of serving Messiah, as well as our community’s youth.
If you have any concerns, comments, or questions, please feel free to talk with anyone from our Leadership team or our Pastor.
In Christ,
Messiah’s Leadership Team
